Little Venice ― Wolfenbüttel, Germany

Wolfenbüttel is a tiny little city that lies just 10-12 kms south of us here in BS. Though tiny it is, and though most of its inhabitants are senior citizens and all the shops close by 3pm on Saturdays (wth??), the city offers some interesting sights to see. I spent a good chunk of a Saturday afternoon late last month Dora the explorin' WF and one of my fave things was "Little Venice" BKA "Klein Venedig." It really is just a tiny bridge overlooking a tiny canal, but I found it charming anyway. Not convinced? Check out this postcard from wayyy back in the day and I'll make a believer outta you! Riiiiight?

Schlösser - Celler Straße - Braunschweig

The city that I live in isn't cosmopolitan, nor does its name sound very pretty. There are, however, many parks and little pockets of neighbourhoods that are beautiful here in Braunschweig. And this is yet another kool thing that I happily stumbled upon in the city just a few weeks ago. Locks upon locks upon locks! Kind of reminds me of the LOCKS & KEYS the girls and I saw on our hike in Cinque Terre back in '09 (throwin' it back to three years ago).
