Ehrmann Almighurt ― Best Yoghurt in Germany

Clockwise from top left: Pear with Shaved Chocolate Flakes, "Exotic" Mango Peach, Pear Elderberry Strawberry, Russian Zupfkuchen (literally Plucked Russian Cake), Berry Lime Mascarpone, Espresso. Not pictured here but also mind-blowing: Sesame Seed Marzipan, Stracciatella, Lemon, Cheesecake.

Yoghurt is one thing (among the many) that Germans do better than North Americans. The selection was overwhelming at first, but I've finally narrowed it down and chosen Ehrmann as my favourite brand. I could care less that their yoghurt's made from Allgäuer milk (Allgäu is a region in southern Germany that's known for its dairy products). All I know is I love the tanginess of their yoghurt flaves. Even the sweet and fruity ones have a slight tang to them. I also like how Ehrmann gets experimental wit' it... new and interesting seasonal flavours (e.g. Caipirinha) come out every season!

Easy Yogurt Muffins Recipe

Easy Yogurt Muffins Recipe

Ingredients

1 cup plain yogurt
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup butter, room temp
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 cup flour
3/4 cup wholemeal flour

2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 cup dried unsweetened coconut
1/4 cup brown sugar

Preparations

With a spoon, mix yogurt and baking soda together in a bowl. In another bowl, cream the softened butter and brown sugar with a blender until fluffy. Add beaten eggs and vanilla to butter/sugar mixture. In yet another bowl, combine baking powder and flours. Mix yogurt into the butter/sugar mixture. Mix yogurt/butter/sugar mixture to flour mixture until well combined.

Combine 2 tsp cinnamon, 1/4 cup coconut and 1/4 cup brown sugar together to create the topping for the muffins. Grease a 12-cup muffin pan with softened butter. Pour 1/4 cup of batter into each muffin cup. Sprinkle a generous amount of topping onto each muffin. Bake in a 350d Farenheit oven for about 30 minutes. I find the flavours of these muffins become really robust by the next day, but they're still enjoyable hot and fresh out of the oven. Need clarification? Just holla :)
