http://rittersport.co.uk | Love the design of Ritter Sport's website... it's so fresh, so clean. Modern to the max! Though I can't say it's my fave chocolate brand of all time, this Stracciatella bar's looking kinda nice still. Watch out... R.Sport's Stracciatella bar comes out this summer 2011.

Pasifika Festival 2011 - PICTURES - Auckland, NZ
Last minute 3-week vacay in NZ. Randomly decided to fly into Auckland. From Melbourne, twas only a 3.5 hr flight. Lucky enough to have been in town for the annual Pasifika Festival just last Sat 12 March 2011. Simply sick, boss! Though I grew up in Toronto, the most multicultural city in the world, I've never seen so many Pacific Islanders in my life! Not in one place, anyway. The festival reminded me of Toronto's annual Caribana festival, only it was a celebration of the islands in the Pacific as opposed to islands in the Caribbean.
Vibrant. Colourful. Tropical. Rhythmic. Well-organized and well-maintained... with an ample amount of rubbish bins and public toilets. And located in the most appropriate park ever, Western Springs Park, a beautiful public space filled with palm trees, lush hills and a huge lake in the centre of it all. I was blown away by all this festival had to offer! Did I mention how good-looking Maori men are?! Haha. And dannnng you should have seen the queue at one of the food stands serving the vanilla ice cream served in a pineapple! I regret not tryin' one of dem thangs. Best: 1814's closing performance of live reggae on the Air New Zealand Int'l Stage. Perfect way to end off the day. Enjoy the slideshow!

Purple Orange Carrot
Let's just slow it dowwwwn and take the time to admire the things we tend to look past in everyday life. Like this carrot, for example. Yes, it's just a carrot (that's been in my belly for 5 hours now) but holy cow does maroon-ish purple contrast well with vibrant orange! Definitely a looker. S-T-U-N-N-I-N-G.

I ♥ CHEESE
Like my collage-y photograph mash-up? The rugged blue background is a close-up shot of one of the bright, colourful walls at L'Avenue Restaurant in Montréal. Several days after having had breakfast at L'Avenue, I ♥ CHEESE scrawled in chalk on some parking metre caught my eye. Isn't it awesome? I'm totally writing + drawing I ♥ CARROT all over Toronto now. Watch out, graffiti po-lice.

Happy Birthday Yoan!
We celebrated Yoan's birthday last weekend and it was the shiznit! I baked her a Red Velvet cake that didn't turn out as red as the last Red Velvet I made; boo. On the contrary, I was happy with the cake's chocolate cream cheese icing (see remnants of chocolate cream cheese icing on candles in photo above). When Yoan called my cake "Cookie Dough Cake" because it was so moist (and perhaps 5 minutes undercooked), lightbulbs began switching on and off above my head. Cookie Dough Cake: an ingenius idea! Anyone interested in a bake-off?

HOT PINK INDIA
Let's Colour Project's documentary of India explores the "deep relationship the people of India have with colour." Filmed in a country where no one is afraid of colour, this docu captures the same vibrant vibe I felt when I was in India. By comparison, us Westerners are such wusses when it comes to colour. Indian men wouldn't think twice about rockin' hot pink golf shirts or bright orange pants. A Canadian man, on the other hand, would likely sweat and fret over the decision to wear a t-shirt with even a hint of pink in it. No doubt, the most colourful city we visited in India had to be Varanasi. [pics/vids will be posted soontime...]
