[FOOD] Montréal 2010

Any food-y trip to Montréal obliges you to accomplish the following: eat Montréal smoked meat at Schwartz's, buy a dozen Montréal-style bagels at St. Viateur, get drunk off local beers on some patio and wash it down with poutine, dine at Au Pied de Cochon and finally, shop for produce at the city's largest outdoor market, Jean-Talon Marché. I just wish I'd gotten the inside scoop of lesser-known food joints to check out while in MTL... you know, that underrated_shh I'm always in search of? Bah well. My fave foodie find had to be the truffles at Les Chocolats de Chloé. I try 'em for the first time here.

I ♥ CHEESE

Like my collage-y photograph mash-up? The rugged blue background is a close-up shot of one of the bright, colourful walls at L'Avenue Restaurant in Montréal. Several days after having had breakfast at L'Avenue, I ♥ CHEESE scrawled in chalk on some parking metre caught my eye. Isn't it awesome? I'm totally writing + drawing I ♥ CARROT all over Toronto now. Watch out, graffiti po-lice.

Oh T.O, why don't you have enough (1) well-dressed men with swagg, (2) bike lanes and (3) decent bakeries? WHY??! Just sayin. I've been in Montréal for almost a week now... and I absolutely luuuuurrrrve it. Stories, vids, pics, whatev — they'll be up soontime. Gonna be a scorcher in the city today, 40 degrees C humidex! August 31, 2010 = outdoor pool schwimming + dinner at Au Pied de Cochon + reggae party pour moi. Woooooo-peeeeeeeeeeee! Am I missing anything goin' down in T.O?
